Kissing dares

I headed up the hill slowly with no exact destination.
At the corner of the hill I noticed that the walls interior of Sunset Bakery were painted a darker shade of purple. Girls from campus would hang out inside the bakery drinking tea or coffee and eating sweet treats, Like Analiese Millers. Some of them sat at the roof and watched the sunset around six during winter, wrapped up in cute coats and hot chocolate warming their hands. Eventually you'd see boys from campus there flirting with girls, some typing up projects, or just simply ordering some kind of sweet.
A few blocks away was Jinx Arcade, where most boys hung out. I had my first date there. After school and on weekends, campus boys spend their whole days in there using up all their money for playing games and eating junk, and procrastinating homework.

I felt a warm breath behind me and turned around. Rodger stood there smiling.

"You,me, date; I'll pick you up at 6:00," He said.

"Sure, but the bad boy thing isn't really working out on me too much," I smiled.

"Hey, Bella! Rodger! Come on let's hang out at the park!" Daniel's voice boomed from behind us.

I looked up at Rodger and he gave me a approval nod and held my hand as we walked towards Daniel.

Daniel invited some other students including Analiese, Miranda, Joel, Mary, Laura, and Jamie.

"Hey guys, Can I tag along?" One of the voices I hated the most said behind us.

"Sure,Margaret!" Daniel said, and that very moment my fist curled up in a fist.

"She changed a lot, Bella," Miranda whispered. She rolled her eyes.

"I hardly doubt that," Analiese nudged my shoulder.

We headed towards campus instead, and flopped down at the tennis court, since it was the only court that wasn't being used at this time of the day.

After a while of chatting, Daniel suggested we'd play a game.

"A game, seriously, we aren't five anymore, remember?" Joel groaned.

"No... Like...." Daniel paused for a moment.

"Like, truth and dare?" Jamie said.

"Exactly!" Daniel approved.

"Oh! Can I go first?" Jamie raised her hand and waved it around like a maniac.

Daniel nodded and she started.

"I dare...." She looked around.

"I dare Bella and Rodger to kiss!"

"I've seen them already," Daniel groaned.

"Yeah, me too!" Joel said. Laura and Marie nodded in agreement.

Yes!
I said to myself.

"But their a cute couple! C'mon!" Analiese shrieked.

I remembered Margaret was there, and looked over at her. She gave me a stare. I reminded myself that she likes Rodger. It was school registration, when she pushed me into that rock that sliced my knee, when she kicked my stomach and almost got away.

I raised my eye brow and gave her the same cold stare she gave me and she rolled her eyes.

I turned to my left and stood up on my knees. Rodger supported himself with his right arm.
My arms curled around his neck and I kissed him quickly.

"AWWWWW!" Analiese shrieked.

Margaret's face filled with fury.
"I pick Rodger," Margaret said.

Of course, I thought to myself.

I thought about what I just did.

"Um.. okay,"

"Truth or dare,"

He thought for a while.

"Dare," He answered.

"Kiss me," She said.

I raised an eyebrow.

"What?" He asked.

"I said, I dare you to kiss me,"

"No way!"

Analiese gasped under her breath and Marie and Laura were both looking at Rodger and Margaret like they were some kind of movie they were watching.
The boys' eyes were wide.
Miranda just smirked.

"You can't say no to a dare," She said.

"This game is over," Rodger stood up.

Margaret stood up and chased after him.
She pulled his hoodie and and he spun around facing her.
Her arms quickly landed around his neck and she kissed tightly.

Fury filled inside me and I dropped my bag and started to run towards Margaret intending to pull all her fake hair out her head.

I managed to push her away from Rodger but Joel grabbed me. My arms froze under his lock, but I kicked the air hardly.
I yelled my lungs out.

"LET ME GO, JOEL!" I yelled.

Miranda stood next to Margaret just smirking.
Margaret walked towards me, but Joel turned around.

He turned back around when Analiese was yelling to Margaret.
"Why would you do that?!" is all I got from what she was yelling.

Rodger walked over to me, evidently angry.

"Let her go, bro." He demanded.

"I'm pretty sure that's not the greatest idea, Rodger,"

"I know, but, just let her go,"

He let go and I ran, but I was quickly inside Rodger's trap.

"Rodger.Please.Let.Me.go," I demanded.

"I will not," He said.

"I'm just going to go to my dorm," I said.

"Really?"

"Really."

He let me go. I grabbed my bag and I headed towards my dorm.

Footsteps followed behind me.

"What do you want from me?!" I said, and turned around.

"You do I didn't kiss her, right?" He asked.

I didn't answer.

"He didn't," Margaret's voice said.

She appeared and stood closely.

She paused for a moment to look at Rodger.

It almost seemed like they read each other's minds.
Her high heel hit the floor. She looked down.

She looked up and her lips were pressed together. Her arms swung slowly, her eyes stared up at the clouds. For a few seconds she remained like so; and finally opened her mouth to talk.

Instead she took a mouthful of air, messed with her lashes and took a step towards me.

"But," Her eyebrow raised and she looked back at Rodger.

"Have you asked him who he had kissed during the period of time you were gone?"
She looked at me and tapped her fingers against her thigh.

She gave a small chuckle under her breath and nodded. She walked away.
She stopped next to me and whispered to my ear

"I'm not trying to hurt you, I'm revealing the truth for you own good," Her face pulled away from my ear and walked away.

"Bella, I didn't kiss anyone while you were gone," His arms opened to give me a hug but I pushed him away.

"Don't have go near me ever again, Rodger." I said in a low warning voice.

"But Bella," He said.
I noticed Analiese heel's clacked towards us.

"Just, let her think," She whispered into his ear.

I glazed at him.
Analiese tugged my arm gently, and we headed towards the dorms.

And for the first time, I heard a small sniffle from behind.

~BELLS.

" Welcome back , Rodger! " Voices said in collision.

A crowd gathered around Rodger and his mother with balloons, cards and flowers.

"I'd better get going; play audition!" Gwenyth said, waving as she walked.

"I'm going to audition as one of the dancers for the play as well, So I'll see you in mathematics" Lea waved to me, and so she followed her twin sister.

I sat down at a bench, and just followed the crowd as it got bigger and bigger.

" ROD! " I heard Danny, Rodger's best friend, yell his name.
He squeezed through the crowd and pounded Rodger and finished off with a manly hug.

Students held balloons and cards, even flowers. The clique of girls who were completely in love with Rodger oowed and awed and tried to reach up to him.

I decided to leave Rodger some air to breath and stood up walking to the crowd.
The crowd paid no mind to me, until I said
"EXCUSE ME!" In my loudest voice.
The crowd turned their heads and it seemed like the whole campus had fallen silent.
The crowd separated to let me through. I reached over to Rodger and my arms fell over his shoulders , and I whispered "Thought I'd give you some space,", and kissed him.

We walked over to the gym building, yet the crowd followed us until the bell rang.

"Bye guys, thanks for the stuff!" He said, holding up a bouquet of flowers.

"I thought they'd never leave," I said.

He smiled and waved with his free hand as he walked away.

"Hey," Rodger sat down next to me.

Gwenyth and Lea gave me a little smirk, and I rolled my eyes.
Gwenyth and Lea carefully watched us, but I know they aren't used to seeing us together.

"Hey!" Caitlin Johnson walked up and sat down.

"Hey Kate," Gwenyth said.

Emily is Gwenyth and Lea's best friend, she visits me and Gwenyth's dorm a lot.

"Hey Caitlin," I smiled.

"Hey Bella, how's Coconut?" She asked.

"Oh, he's fine. He's in the animal daycare," I explained.

"Cool. Hey Gwena, did you hear about Margaret?" They whispered.

They whispered to each other, and soon enough it was feeling a bit awkward.

"We'll be leaving now," I said, picking up my tray and nudging Rodger in the arm carefully.

"Okay. See you in --"

"Bella," A familiar voice said. Her tray hit the table.
I looked up and saw Miranda. I had completely forgotten Miranda. She lived in my building.

"I'm really sorry I was being mean to you a few weeks ago. But I have a surprise. Dorm room 462 hallway 7, I'll be there by four," She left.

"What do you think she wants to give you?" asked Rodger, throwing away the excess food in his tray.

"I honestly have no absolute idea. Let's go outside," I said, pulling his hand.
We sat down under a shade provided by a tree.
I placed my head on his shoulder.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"Please don't," He said moving over to be able to look at me.

"Don't what?" I asked.

"I feel you don't... like me," He said.

I looked up to him in shock.

"Like your just doing all of this because I took the risk to go inside that burning building to find you," He said.

I just stared in awe.

"Doing all of what? I don't understand,"

"You know like kissing me and being more romantic and so,"

"Okay then I shall no longer kiss you," I said, turning my back on him.

"It's not that I don't want you to kiss me, I mean, I do really want you to kiss me, But it's not really you; before all of this happened, you never kissed me as often, you know?" He explained.

I placed my head on my knees for a while.

"So you're basically breaking up with me?" I asked.

"I feel like... yes," He said.

That was enough.
Before my eyes would rain tears, I grabbed my bag and stood up.

"I can't believe it,that's what you think I'm doing?" I stopped.

"All I wanted to do is give you something back. I wanted to make you feel the way I felt when you came out of that building," I realized that I was almost yelling.

I wiped my tears with my sleeves.

" I thought I'd thank you in a way; something a long that line.I can't think right now. I can barely speak because of what you are thinking. I thought I'd be even with you... I just... wanted --"

He grabbed my arm and spun me around and somehow our lips landed together.
I pulled my arms in top of his shoulders. I fell into a small fantasy in a way. His lips separated from mine's and he whispered something in my ear.
"That was enough to clean my mind from those thoughts. I hope you forgive me," He said.
He looked and whispered again, "And you didn't have to be even with me," He said.

The bell rung and he walked away, but I ignored the bell and just sat under the tree scribbling words on a piece of printing paper.

After the bell rung once again, I decided to head off to the music hall, which surprisingly isn't actually a hall, it's actually right in the same building as the auditorium.

I did my usual of playing violin, then headed off to the rest of my classes.
After what seemed a long day; I said goodbye to Rodger and headed off to my room.

"I don't want to join Glee club," Caitlin discussed with Gwenyth as I entered the room.

"I suggest not to either," I said.

"Well hello to you too; Ms.Terry isn't in the school anymore anyways; had some kind of drinking problem; Her husband had died recently;" She explained.

I suddenly felt upset for Ms.Terry.

"Oh, yeah, I have to get something from Miranda,"

I walked over to the dorm room and we talked for a while.

"Here's what I wanted to give you," She held up a bird cage.
I looked closely.

"Jazz!"
I opened the little wired door and the small rodent climbed into my hands.
I set the hamster on my lap and hugged Miranda.

"Thank you, so, so much!" I said.
I hid the small cage inside my bag.

Luckily Gwenyth loved little Jazzy, and so we were to discuss something-- something I didn't hear what-- tomorrow, then Gwenyth dozed off in her sleep.
