"Hey Brownie" Rodger's voice struck me behind me.
He called me "brownie" Because of my famous brownies... and my brown eyes.. Weird right?
I slammed my locker
"Hey, I hate that nickname." I said, turning around.
" What's up?"He asked.
"The roof. You doing anything for the no talent talent show?" I asked.
"Noooooope. You?" He answered.
"No! Heck...no!" I said.
" You HAVE talent. You just don't admit it."
It was quiet for a second. I didn't say anything.
"Hey!!" We heard from a distance.
We turned around to see the beautiful green eyes of Sophia catching up to us.
" Hi!" I said.
"Hey are you doing anything for the no talent talent show?" She asked.
"NO!" Me and Rodger answered together.
Then the bell rang, we all got to our classes.
I had classes with Gabrielle next.
I sat next to her in EVERY class. Except for Science and Literacy.
Great, huh?
But it was like this everyday, quiet. Quiet except the sound of her soft breathing.
Then came lunch. I enjoyed a nice turkey sandwich. Then we headed to the auditorium to see the NO talent talent show.
We watched plays, listened to extremely not funny "jokes", watched weird dances, crooked modeling and much more.
Until .... It was quiet. Everyone listened carefully to the people arguing back stage.
Then Ms.Terry ran down the stage.
Then she headed to my direction.
" Bella! Bella!" She whispered loudly.
I looked at Sophia and Rodger and headed towards Ms.Terry.
Ms.Terry and I walked towards the exit.
"What wrong?" I asked leaving the auditorium.
"We need you to stall." She said quickly.
"But-No..-But..." I got cut off.
"Do you have you guitar?" She asked.
"Yeah it's in my locker but--"
" Run to get it Bella. Please. We need you to stall. A girl's costume for the play broke. Mrs.Johnson will be able to fix it, she just needs some on to stall. PLEASE BELLA."
I stared at her for a second, and shook my head slightly.
Then ran off to my locker.
Mrs.Johnson had the Fashion crew.
I took my guitar out and quickly ran back to the auditorium.
"Come through here." Ms.Terry said, leading me some where.
She opened a door that led to the backstage. I felt weird. I felt like a star.
"We've got the staller!" Ms.Terry announced.
I don't think "Staller" is a word. Oh well.
The quickly put make up on me, did my hair, and some tuned my guitar.
I felt rushed, as if I were late for something. I felt unprepared and that feeling you get when you realized you didn't do your hair and your halfway to school.
But I knew I looked beautiful.
They rushed me to a seat in the middle of the stage, placed two mics in front of me.
"What am I going to sing?" I asked nervously.
"Ummm.I Don't know.... That song you sang for the auditions... you still remember it?" Ms.Terry said.
I nodded yes, and she said "you'll be great" And walked away.
And up went the curtains.
Revealing the tiny heads of the huge crowd in front of me.
I got even more nervous.
I felt sick.
I looked to the side and saw Ms.terry mouthing "Bella, do it!" Or "Please, Stay."
I looked down at my guitar and then at the audience, who was waiting for me.
The I stared playing the notes of a year without rain.
And I sang.
I saw The brightest blue eyes in the audience, Gabrielle.
Her mouth dropped. Then she stood up and ran away.
My eyes followed her.
I felt like stopping, and running after her.
But I didn't. I kept on.
When the song finished, Gabrielle wasn't there.
I looked to the side and Ms.Terry's big smile pointed towards me.
The curtains went down and I ran backstage.
I put my guitar in my case and gave a loud good-bye to everyone and never thought of what I just did again.
I slowly walked to my locker, put my guitar in my locker.
I roamed through the lonely, quiet and creepy hallways, until I got to the auditorium.
Then I sat in my seat, awkwardly. Everyone staring at me.
Rodger and Sophia smiled.
I gave them a weak smile back.
After the talent show ended, I ran off to the bathroom.
I removed all the make up And looked at myself in the mirror.
"Need this?" Sophia's reflection scared me in the mirror.
"Thanks" I said taking the hair band she offered me.
I tied my long layered hair into a ponytail.
"You were great up there." Sophia said.
"Thanks... Don't mention it."
I said, and left.
And by the end of the day, This is What I got:
"You were AWESOME!"
"You have a really nice voice."
"Can you teach me how to play the guitar?"
"Where'd you get that shirt."
" Do you.... Want to go out sometime"
Yes, I got asked out like 3 times. All no-nos.
It was the end of the day.
"Brownie" Rodger ran up to me.
"Hey" I said.
We walk down the stairs not being able to say a word because of:
"YO bells! You were good!"
"BELLA!!!!"
"BEEEEELLS!!!"
"YO BELLS. HOW YA DOING?"
or
"You free tonight"
All said my the football team...
"So where you going to say anything?" I asked Rodger, when we finally got outside with peace and quiet.
"Yeah.... I was going to say, well you know that we'--"
"Hey!!!" We got cut off by some girl.
"Hi! Is it okay if I ask you for your autograph?"
"Sure?" I said awkwardly... I'm not even famous..
"Well you know, your not famous or anything...But I'm sure you are going to be... So when you become famous I'm going to be like 'totally, I got her autograph before she was famous' and every one going to be like NOOOO WAY! you know?"She blabbed as I signed her paper.
"Sorry you were saying" I said to Rodger when the girl left.
"Bella!!! Wait up" Another girl said.
"Forget it. I have to go." He walked away.
"Wait Rodger!!" I said. He ignored me.
The girl talked and talked but I ignored her and walked away.
I knew he was lying. I knew he was upset.
